Engraved Elation

I was thinking the other day of why I love photography so much, I have as long as I can remember. I think it came from my dad having this huge beautiful camera that I used to sneak into his room and open the big black suitcase it was in...running my hands over the pink foam that protected it, not daring to pick it up. To getting my first rubber covered, blue, Kodak camera when I was eight. I still have those pictures today.

Ive taken two classes, one in high school and one in College...but really just enjoy doing my own thing. The amazing thing about photography is that the picture represents how the photographer feels about its encaptured shots. I love looking at others pictures because it tells me more about them, often times...then they tell me.

And so I wanted to share some of mine and why I loved the shot I took.

This picture was taken of Jacob on his 30th Birthday. I actually had jumped out of the car to get a great shot of the outside of this old barn in Gatlinburg TN. After I was done I was looking for Jacob and saw him at the end of the inside of the barn...the reflecting light was beautiful and for me represented something more...the wonderful walk I will have down that road of life, lit with joy, always with him.
